Welcome, friends!
Like many other people out there, I love to go to places both near and far that I've never seen before. I've travelled to many foreign countries already, including: Brazil, Belize, England, France, Kenya and most recently Spain. However as an American I cherish most the memories I've had while visiting the following states: California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, New York, Illinois, Florida and Hawaii.
Needless to say, I love learning about other cultures!

Me in front of Buckingham Palace |
I began writing this blog to document my experiences on a semester study abroad program to Spain, where I fell in love with the Spanish language, culture and people. Now I write about my adventures and discoveries no matter where I am in the world. But hopefully I can make it back to Spain again for a longer amount of time!

On the steps of La Bolsa de Madrid (Madrid Stock Exchange) |
I am a young, single college student but I am far from a starving one. Another passion of mine is cooking delicious, gourmet recipes after a good workout or run. I also enjoy playing and listening to music of almost all genres.
To answer a question you might be wondering after reading my posts, yes I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon Church) and I am proud of it! I love my religion and can't imagine living my life without the comfort it gives me. This blog was not originally intended to be about my faith, however it will be highly saturated with Gospel topics since I will serving as a sister missionary from June 2013- December 2014 in Lisbon.
To find out more about what I believe, visit http://mormon.org/. To hear about what I have to say about being a Mormon, visit http://mormon.org/me/9JDN. I do really, really love my faith because it gives me a great hope and view about life that I want to share with others-- whether in Portugal or not.
As much as I love traveling, though, I love my family more than anything else! They are the ones that support and encourage me to go on these crazy adventures of mine and I always try to do them proud.
